Its interesting that the building on the right of the tree has acquired a front door. These are often taken off but seldom added. Unless of course its a whole new facade in the same style...
A bit hard to tell from this angle, it could just be that some windows have become doors. There is some business about dividing the building into flats in the planning permission links. However the building on the left has lost its shopfronts and acquired an entirely new facade. Meanwhile the trees have remained remarkably unchanged in ten years. The observation that can be learned from this is that in London the buildings now grow more quickly than the trees.
